Johns Hopkins Universities’ Applied Physics Laboratory
The Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is a not-for-profit center for engineering, research, and development. APL is a division of one of the world's premier research universities, Johns Hopkins. Their 399-acre campus, is north of Washington, DC, and home to 4,300 men and women. A team of APL scientists and engineers has embarked on one of the Laboratory's most ambitious projects: to develop a next-generation mechanical arm that will look, feel, perform and be controlled like a natural limb. The work is being done as part of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Revolutionizing Prosthetics program.
Blackrock Microsystems is honoured that our Data Acquisition system was chosen as the platform technology for the project and we have continued to provide specialized products for this multi-institutional project.
